“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace”
Romans 8:5-8.
God is a spirit and to walk with God you have to be spiritually minded. To be spiritually minded, you have to be born again, give attention to the Word of God, be led by the Holy Spirit and pray constantly in the spirit. “What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.” 1 Corinthians 2:12 (NIV). Through the Word of God and with the help of the Holy Spirit, you can understand what God has freely given you. To be spiritually minded is to set your mind on the things of the spirit, being “renewed in the spirit of your minds” (Ephesians 4:23) and being “transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect” 9Romans 12:2). Your mind is the door to your spirit; that is why you have to be transformed by the renewing of your mind with the word of God, to be in sync with God. “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:16. Being born again, you have the mind of Christ. To keep your mind stayed on God, you must learn to pull down anything that exults itself against the knowledge of God, making it subject to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4, 5).
