Functioning in the authority of the Name of the Lord Jesus means you are standing in His place. God has vested all authority in the name of the Lord Jesus. At the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth. The Lord Jesus delegated this authority to you; the day you were born again, you inherited the name of the Lord Jesus. You are required to function in His authority and His character. As you give attention to His and the ministry of the Holy Spirit, your words carry the same power and authority as that of the Lord Jesus. All things are subject to the name of the Lord Jesus, and all things are subject to you as you function in the name of the Lord Jesus.
The Bible tells us: “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,, giving thanks to God and the Father by him” Colossians 3:17 (KJV). The Lord Jesus gave you the authority that the Father gave Him so you can function in His name to drive out demons; speak in new tongues; pick up snakes with your hands; and if you drink deadly poison, it will not hurt you at all; you will place your hands on sick people, and they will get well (Mark 16: 17-18). To live in Christ is to be a Word practitioner, being marvelously helped by the Holy Spirit. Understand your identity in Christ and function in the name of the Lord Jesus, knowing that all things are subject to you in the name of the Lord Jesus.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you that in Christ Jesus, I live, move, and have my being. I therefore exercise authority in the name of the Lord Jesus. Glory to God.
