““All Scripture is…for conviction [of sin]”
2 Timothy 3:16 (AMP).
The Bible says the Holy Spirit will convict the world of sin, not the Church (believers). For the Church, the Bible says, “For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged” (1 Corinthians 11:31, KJV). Your spirit has the nature of God and by your spirit, you can tell when you have done something wrong, and your own spirit will judge you, so you can repent, so you might not be judged by the Lord. All you ought to do is to act on the Word of God and receive forgiveness. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need”. To “obtain,” means you take or collect mercy. The Bible says “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 (NIV). The Word of God confronts wrong in your life, it has the power to expose sin and convince you that you are wrong, allowing you to change, by renewing your mind you think God’s thoughts which are His Word.
