“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak”
2 Corinthians 4:13 (KJV)
The Spirit of faith works by believing and speaking. For faith to work properly, it must be in your heart and in your mouth (see Romans 10:8-10; Mark 11:23). The Lord Jesus is the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, and He is faithful to God, who has appointed Him to accomplish His purpose. “Therefore, holy brethren, who share in a heavenly call, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession” Hebrews 3:1 (RSV). The primary Greek word for “confess” is homologeo, which basically means “to say the same thing” and then “agree, admit, acknowledge.” Therefore, confession is saying the same thing God has said in His Word. One of the task of the Lord Jesus as the Apostle and High Priest of our confession is to uphold all things by the Word of His power. The Bible says, “Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you” Numbers 14:28 (KJV). As we declare God’s Word, He sees to it that it comes to pass. When we speak the Word, our assigned angels go into action to bring the Word to pass (Psalm 103:20).
God in Christ Jesus has made us kings and priests. As joint heirs with Christ, we have a joint responsibility with Him in the administration of our divine inheritance. As kings, we are to decree a thing and it is established, and as priests, we offer sacrifices to God with the fruit of our lips and our resources. Jesus presides over our confessions. Hebrews 13:5-6, “He had said…so we may boldly say”; we say in agreement with what His Word has said pertaining to a situation, and He endorses it. Maintain your confession despite any opposition, because God is faithful to bring it to pass. As you keep saying it, the Word will prevail.
PRAYER/CONFESSION
Dear Father, I thank you that I have the same spirit of faith to live a victorious life just like our Lord Jesus while he was functioning in the earth. I believe and therefore speak and I have extraordinary results in the name of the Lord Jesus.
